FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design inviterer til bogudgivelse af ‘Vanitas’ af FAIR-resident, Camilla Edstöm Ödemark, i FABRIKKENs store hal. Udgivelsen finder sted i forbindelse med fællesudstillingen ‘Kollegialisme’, der præsenerer værker af 60+ kunstnere og designere, der til dagligt arbejder fra atelierer og værksteder på FABRIKKEN.

Udgivelsen Vanitas dokumenterer et tidligere projekt af billedkunstner Camilla Edström Ödemark, som pt. er resident i FAIR-programmet. Bogen er designet af kunstner og grafisk designer Caetano Carvalho og rummer billeder og tekster, der udforsker temaer som forgængelighed og destruktion med afsæt i det skulpturelle værk Heaven is a Place on Earth (2020). Bogen er lavet med støtte fra det Norske Kulturråd.

FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design is celebrating the release of ‘Vanitas’ by FAIR artist in residence, Camilla Edstöm Ödemark, in FABRIKKEN’s central space. The release takes place during the exhibition ‘Kollegialisme’, presenting works by the 60+ designers and artists currently working at FABRIKKEN.

The artist book Vanitas documents a past project by artist Camilla Edström Ödemark. Designed by artist and graphic designer Caetano Carvalho, the book contains images and texts which explore themes of mortality and destruction present in the sculptural work Heaven is a Place on Earth (2020). The book is made with the support of Arts Council Norway.On the release Edström Ödemark will read from the book.The event will be in English.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, entrance at FABRIKKEN is only permitted by presentation of a valid corona passport for all persons above the age of 15. We kindly ask you to wear a mask.Entrance is found on the backside of the building.

BIO:
Camilla Edström Ödemark (b. 1985, Åland) is currently a FAIR programme artist in residence at FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design. Ödemark has an MFA from Kunstakademiet in Oslo (2020), where she is currently based. Her practice is based on a strong interest in conditions characterised by a constant negotiation between the self-aware subject and its surroundings. Her installations, texts, sculptures and videos often reflect a rupture and displacement of identity, placing her visual narrative in a space where the self oscillates between total definition and disintegration.
Camilla’s work has recently been shown at The Norwegian Sculptors’ Association (NO), Kunstnernes hus (NO), Sinne (FIN), Galleri 54 (SE) and she is currently working towards a solo show at Bærum Kunsthalle (NO) and Galleria Sculptor (FIN). In 2020, she was awarded with the FKDS studio grant at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo.

At FABRIKKEN, Camilla is working on sculptures in wood and metal alongside a film she is developing for the interregional project Falnande språk (Fading Tongues) in Sweden.
